Chelsea had to dig deep to grind out a 0-0 draw against Atletico Madrid playing at vicente calderon on tuesday night champions League semifinal, they will be without Lampard, Mikel and Terry for the return leg in 1 week time.
Chelsea were on the back foot throughout the game against a very solid looking spanish out fit in Ateltico Madrid, they played with intent and created a few chances but credit to Chelsea and the defence who stood out strong and weather the strom specialy in patches when Atletico wee very strong.
Game started with a certain flow to Atleti gameplay, as they tried to pick crossed from either side of the win but John Terry was leading chelsea’s defence remarkably. game was 0-0 at the break and Chelsea were the happier side having kept the home side at bay.
In the 2nd half the theme was same but Chelsea got a couple of blows when Lampard saw yellow card which will keep him out of the return leg while John Obi Mikel also will be missing after getting yellow. John Terry got himself hurt in what looked like a metatarsal injury and he will be missing the return leg (most probably).
I got to say that the best performer on the pitch was the referee who who kpet his cool and did not got influenced by any pla acting.
